Taylor Swift's voice cracks during emotional song amid Matty Healy breakup

Taylor Swift and 1975 rocker Matty Healy had to grin and bear it on stage, as reports emerged that their short relationship had come to an end.

The couple broke up after dating for two months, during which time they were pictured together several times.

Fans of Taylor, 33, said her voice cracked as she sang one of her many breakup anthems I Don’t Wanna Live Forever, as she sang the line: “Wondering if I dodged a bullet, or just lost the love of my life?”

She was performing in Chicago and someone in attendance said it was “heartbreaking” to see her struggle.

Meanwhile, that night Matty, 34, drank from a hip flask on stage in Vienna, Austria. The pair’s conflicting tour schedules are believed to have been a factor in their relationship failing.

Taylor started dating Matty after her six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn ended in March. The rocker flew to Nashville last month to attend all six of her gigs there and performed during one of them. They were also seen kissing.

Sources in the US say their fling simply “run its course”, but others said the pair only ever wanted a casual tryst – despite reports claiming they were “madly in love”.

The quick rebound drew comparisons to her moving on with actor Tom Hiddleston after her breakup from DJ Calvin Harris in 2016, in another short lived romance.

One source scoffed to US publication Page Six: “She will not be writing albums about this one Does everyone have amnesia about Tom Hiddleston? Jesus Christ.”

Matty – whose parents are Loose Women’s Denise Welch and Benidorm’s Tim Healy - once dated singer FKA Twigs.

Last month, he appeared to mock the idea that he and Taylor might not be the real deal, joking on stage during Radio 1’s Big Weekend: “Is it sincere? Will he ever address it? All of these questions and more will be ignored in the next hour.”
