Suspect Charged With Murder After Fatal Stabbing In Broad Daylight

Knife found at the scene after a man, who was later shot dead by police, killed four members of his extended family in Queens

A suspect has been charged with murder after a disturbing incident in which a man was allegedly run over twice with a car, straddled, kissed, and fatally stabbed multiple times in broad daylight. The suspect, identified as Karon Fisher, 20, is described as a man in court documents but referred to as a 'she' by the Houston Police Department.

The tragic homicide occurred around 7:50 p.m. on May 3, as per a press release from the Houston Police Department. Neighbor video footage obtained by KTRK-TV shows a deliberate attack on the victim, identified as 64-year-old Steven Anderson, who was reportedly on his way to pick up his mail.

The video captures the victim turning around to see a white car speeding towards him, striking him and then reversing to hit him a second time. The suspect, dressed in all-black, is then seen brandishing a knife, flipping Anderson over, straddling him, kissing him, and stabbing him nine times. The suspect then attempts to enter another vehicle unsuccessfully before fleeing the scene by jumping over the victim's body.

Police were alerted to the incident after reports of a hit-and-run. Upon arrival, officers found Anderson with multiple stab wounds, already deceased. Witnesses directed officers to the suspect's location nearby, where she was detained, questioned by detectives, charged with murder, and subsequently taken into custody at the Harris County Jail.

Authorities have indicated that there is no known relationship between the suspect and the victim. Records reveal that Fisher was on community supervision for evading arrest in 2023 and had a previous charge of prostitution in 2021, which was later dismissed.

Fisher's next court appearance is scheduled for May 24, with a bond amount set at $2.125 million, according to online jail records.
