Superdrug shoppers snapping up affordable blonde hair products ‘better than Olaplex’

Being a bleached blonde is a big commitment. And it can be a pretty expensive one too if you want to keep the brassiness at bay, touch up your roots and keep your hair in a healthy condition. And now there are dozens of repairing products on the market, but they’re not without the salon-worthy price tag either.

Going blonde is a journey that puts your hair under extreme stress which, when also exposed to heat and repeated dyeing, can leave it dry, dull and splitting.

But Superdrug shoppers have been able to get their hands on an affordable hair care line specifically for blondes - and customers are saying it's better than leading brand Olaplex.

The Revolution Blonde Plex range launched in stores and online at Superdrug this month, and promises ‘brighter blonde with less breakage’.

Revolution said: “Say goodbye to dry and damaged hair with the Bond Plex range, expertly formulated to target different layers of the hair fibre helping to restore and strengthen damage from within. And just for bleached blonde and highlighted hair, unlock your best hair with all the benefits of our bestselling range combined with Colour Enhance technology – brighter blonde, less breakage!'

These types of products help rebuild bonds in the hair which have been damaged during bleaching, helping rebuild strength and integrity of the hair.

Revolution Haircare Blonde Plex range is now available at Superdrug (Revolution)

The Revolution Haircare Blonde Plex Range features four products which set out to repair hair and leave it looking blonder and feeling healthier. Prices start from £10 for the shampoo, conditioner and styling cream, while the restore treatment is £15.

Cruelty free, vegan friendly and packaged in 50 per cent post consumer recycled plastic, the range is also SLS and SLES free, both of which can be irritating to skin.

Revolution recommends using the Blonde Plex 3 , a Bond Restore Treatment on damp hair as a pre-shampoo treatment before following up with the shampoo and conditioner . Your last step is Blonde Plex 6, which is a leave-in styler to help colour and heat protect, reduce frizz and repair the hair.

Shoppers have been thrilled with the results on their hair, with Sophie B writing: “Makes your hair feel great after use. I love the results and that it is cruelty free and vegan.”

Samantha M added: “Better than Olaplex and so much cheaper. Don’t buy it all though. Save some for me.”

While Debra M wrote: “I’ve used this about four times already and the difference to my hair is amazing! I have quite fine, weak, highlighted hair, very silvery blonde and this product has really helped with the condition.”

You can find the Revolution Haircare Blonde Plex range on the Superdrug website here - or buy the bundle direct from Revolution for £36.
