'Super dad' climbs up ride to rescue daughter, 6, after she gets stuck on Gulliver's World waterslide

A ‘super dad’ has been praised after he rescued his daughter who had got stuck on a waterslide.

Andrew Jackson, 38, and his partner Emma Reece, 41, decided to take their daughter Sienna to Gulliver's World in Warrington on Saturday, June 10, to celebrate her sixth birthday.

Whilst on the Toga Tower, an outdoor three-lane waterslide where people sit in dinghies and travel down a blue slide, Sienna suddenly got stuck halfway down the ride when it reached its bump.

As Sienna shouted for help, dad Andrew decided to take matters into his own hand and stepped in to save the day, reports the Echo.

"I could see Sienna had started to cry and was getting panicked,” Emma, who lives in Rainhill, Liverpool, explained. “Andrew said ‘I'm going to have to walk up there and get her’.”

In video footage of the moment, Andrew can be seen gripping the sides of the waterslide as he places his feet on the edge to avoid the water. Emma can be heard laughing in the video as Andrew climbs up the vertical part of the slide.

As Andrew reached the dingy, people nearby could be heard cheering him on in support.

He then tried to bring the dinghy forward so it could tip over the bump and continue the ride, but initially struggled to get the boat moving. After a little push, it eventually became free and slid down with the help of Andrew using his feet to get it moving.

The pair were able to safely get down the slide to cheers from people watching nearby, including his partner Emma. "There was cheering from the top and bottom,” she explained.

The clip has since gone viral with more than 4.7 million views. It has also been shared on news channels and websites including CNN and Fox News.

Six-year-old Sienna said she was ‘happy’ when her dad managed to rescue her and agreed he was a ‘super dad’.
