A 11pm to 5 am curfew's been brought in in Sudan's second city of Port Sudan. The extension of an often violated humanitarian truce delivers lulls in the fighing but only a trickle of aid.

Also dozens of illegal miners are stuck underground in a gold mine in Ghana. And Thursday is World No Tobacco Day..  The World Health Organisation is concerned that cultivation and consumption of tobacco has been rising on the continent even as it falls elsewhere.
