Strong wind in Chicago hilariously wreaked havoc on the Mariners-White Sox game

It turns out they weren’t lying when they decided to call Chicago “The Windy City.” Who would’ve thought?

Thursday’s game between the Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox was supposed to be a normal getaway game for the Mariners before they returned home to face Houston on Friday. It ended up being the wildest experience for any player who tried to field a pop fly.

The city of Chicago was under a high wind warning for much of Thursday with up to 60 mph wind gusts. Now, fielding a baseball in windy conditions is always going to be tough, but fielding a baseball through 60 mph wind is straight-up silly.

Just look what it did to the Mariners.
