Strictly Come Dancing star disqualified after world record attempt

Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova was eliminated from the spin-off show after her challenge was declared illegal.

It Takes Two pins some of the show's best dancers against one another in a series of tasks to find out who will be victorious alongside the main show's celebrity winner.

This year's leaderboard top three was made up of Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden and two-time reigning champ Nadiya Bychkova. Their final challenge saw the professionals go head-to-head to deliver the most back Charleston kick steps which would also give them a place in the Guinness World Records.

Last year, Nadiya recorded 38 pat-a-cakes in a space of 30 seconds and landed herself in the record books. This year she defended her title but a shocking disqualification left her and her fellow competitors speechless after not one, but all, of the professional's kicks were declared illegal.

Rylan was on hand to deliver the news as he left the three stars in anxious silence, withholding the information for suspense. He eventually confirmed none other than reigning champ Nadiya, who performed 25 kicks, was disqualified for not correctly landing her steps.

Disappointed, she laughed the elimination off before cheering on her fellow dancers. It was Amy who was victorious in this year's challenge. After Rylan shared the results, Amy said: "I can't believe it," as she was handed a Guinness World Record certificate.
