S Club 7 confirm 25th anniversary tour on The One Show - and they're coming to Cardiff

It's been 25 years since they first got together to create pop hits such as Reach for the Stars and Don't Stop Movin' and now, as revealed on The One Show on Monday, February 13, the stars of S Club 7 are reuniting to fill music venues across the UK and Ireland as they embark on their Reunited tour.

Alex Jones, who presented the show with Jermaine Jenas, welcomed all seven members of the band onto the BBC show's renowned green sofa and, after chatting to them about their comeback, announced that tickets for the much-anticipated tour will be going live at 10am on Friday, February 17 on Ticketmaster.

The group, which consists of Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, will be performing at 11 venues beginning at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena and ending in London at the O2 - but not before hitting Wales' own Cardiff International Arena on October 23.

Strictly Come Dancing star Rachel told Alex: "We're back. We are very excited to say that we are going back out on tour in October, we're just so excited to get back out there and sing our hearts out and perform. We're celebrating 25 years which is just crazy, so exciting."

Giving an insight into what fans of the band - who split up in 2003 before getting back together in 2014 - can expect this October, Bradley said: "If you know, you know. S Club is all about... obviously the nostalgia and the late '90s, early noughties. It's very postive our music. Very positive. So, in today's time, you need a bit of positive, a bit of picking up, so that's what we're here to do."

Explaining how their manager contacted them last year to open up the possibility of a tour, Jon revealed the band now have a WhatsApp group called the S Clubbers to get them all abuzz for the upcoming tour.

With the excitement surrounding this news flowing through not just the generation who grew up with S Club 7 in the '90s but the younger generation too, Hannah wanted to clear up something she'd noticed rippling through social media.

After hearing that the band - which not only had four number one's but a talent show and their own TV series - had amassed over 60 million streams on Spotify, Hannah said: "It's incredible that Generation Z they're picking up on TikTok with the likes of our songs nowadays. It's incredible. But I will just add to that, I think everyone's saying: 'Reach Up for the Stars'" - as opposed to Reach For The Stars.

Of going back on the road, the band said previously, as reported by The Sun: "After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we're reuniting and performing together again. We're so excited to bring the S Club Party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years of S Club 7.

“We can't even believe it's been so long! Music and friendship have always been at the core of everything that we've ever done. We hope everyone can join us for one big party!!"

The dates for the tour will be as follows:

  • 13th October - Liverpool, M&S Bank Arena
  • 14th October - Sheffield, Utilita Arena
