In a recent nighttime attack, Russia targeted the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa with ballistic missiles, causing significant damage and injuries. Local officials and emergency services reported that 14 people were injured in the strike, which also resulted in a massive blaze.

This marks the third attack on Odesa in a week, with the latest strike hitting a sorting depot owned by Nova Poshta, Ukraine's largest private delivery company. Fortunately, no staff members were harmed, but the attack triggered a major fire at the facility.

Earlier incidents in Odesa resulted in casualties, with six people losing their lives in a previous missile strike and three individuals perishing in another attack on civilian infrastructure.

Long-range strikes have become a common tactic in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has been described as Europe's biggest conflict since World War II. Ukrainian officials have requested additional air defense systems from Western allies to bolster their defenses against Russian aggression.

Despite facing challenges such as troop shortages and ammunition deficits, Ukrainian forces are working to strengthen defensive fortifications in response to Russia's advances on the battlefield.

Odesa, a crucial export hub for Ukrainian grain shipments through the Black Sea, has been repeatedly targeted by Russian forces. The recent attacks coincide with the 10th anniversary of violent clashes in the city between pro- and anti-Russia demonstrators.

Ukraine has retaliated by deploying advanced long-range drones to strike targets within Russia, focusing on infrastructure that supports the Russian economy and military operations. Reports indicate that Ukrainian drone strikes have damaged energy facilities in multiple Russian regions, including Oryol, Smolensk, and Kursk.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that Ukrainian drones were intercepted and shot down over several regions, with the majority of incidents occurring in Bryansk, where five drones were successfully neutralized.

As the conflict continues to escalate, both sides are engaged in strategic maneuvers and counterattacks, leading to further destruction and casualties. The situation remains fluid, with ongoing developments expected in the coming days.
