Rs.80 crore for Ezhukone junction

A sum of ₹80 crore has been allocated for the renovation of Ezhukone Junction as part of the development works being implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on the Kollam-Edamon National Highway 744, Kodikunnil Suresh MP has said.

The NHAI has sanctioned ₹447 crore for the overall development of Kollam-Edamon National Highway 744, which covers a distance of 52.2 km from Kollam to Edamon. While ₹40 crore has been allocated for reconstructing Valacode flyover between Punalur and Edamon, ₹4.52 crore has been included in the estimate for Pulamonthode bridge at Kottarakara town and another bridge at Kunnikode Shastri Junction.

“Also, a metallic crash barrier will also be installed to avoid accidents and ensure safety in the Killur section from Ambalathumkala between Ezhukone and Neduvathur,” said the MP.
