Robbie Fraser on the words of wisdom shared by his manager before debut

Robbie Fraser was delighted to have made his debut at Ibrox on Tuesday evening, and has spoken of the words of encouragement handed down by Rangers manager Philippe Clement.

Fraser was brought off the bench for Ridvan Yilmaz with half an hour left to play in Rangers' 5-2 Scottish Premiership win over Dundee. In doing so, the 21-year-old defender said Clement and his staff told him to enjoy himself in the game.

"The manager said that he believed in me, he liked what he saw of me and he told me go on and just be positive and do what I've been doing," Fraser told Rangers TV after the game. "I felt like I did that, but, of course, there are moments that I can look at in my game and hope to improve.

"I was pleased [with my performance], I felt good when I was on the ball, communicating with the backline, I felt good but again there are always moments to get better."

Fraser praised his teammates for their support on the pitch too, singling out captain James Tavernier for his help in talking him through the game.

A product of the Rangers youth academy, Fraser's debut marks 14 years of hard work for the full-back, who now wants to continue working hard on and off the pitch in his pursuit of more game time.

"It's something you dream about as a young boy, coming on and playing at Ibrox, three points in front of the fans. It doesn't get much better than that.

"[From here] I'll keep chipping away like I've always done. Being patient is something that I've always prided myself on, I'll keep working hard.

"We've got a huge couple of games coming up now. We'll obviously try and finish off our league business with a win, and then we're heading into a huge cup final next week."
