Recent major UFO sightings reviewed as 'airborne object' shot down over Canada

Four 'UFOs' have been shot down over North America and it's unclear at this stage whether the 'airborne objects' are of the Men in Black kind, or something a bit more ordinary.

The Pentagon recently announced that they were investigating 171 unexplained UFO sightings, and the government's efforts to document the mysterious objects has led to hundreds of incidents being looked into, senior military leaders have said.

But over the years amateur sleuths have tried to get to the bottom of the sightings, and there have been many shocking revelations in the past year alone.

Just last month, a leaked image from a spy plane showed a flying orb over the city of Mosul, Iraq, and experts said the US military was investigating the incident.

And late last year, a 'former Department of Defence official' make the astonishing revelation - ' UFOs are real! ' Here, we've taken a look at a few recent sightings so you can make up your own mind.

Most recently, UFO spotters have been left in shock as a ' semi-transparent triangle ' was spotted hovering over a city - and an expert said this is '100 per cent a real alien craft'.

One witness managed to capture a video of the bizarre sighting, and the short clip shows the unknown object floating effortlessly in the sky.

The witness estimated the craft would be around 60-75ft in length, and experts believe the object, which is triangular in shape, can't be a jet plane of any kind as it doesn't move at all during the video.

The video was captured over Salt Lake City in Utah, United States, and one witness, who remains anonymous, said: "I noticed a fairly large triangular object hovering in the sky. It was first floating stationary but moving kind of wavy.

"It then proceeded to slowly move north. I captured a total of four videos of approximately one minute 30 seconds each. The object kept floating north and then seemed to disappear from view.

"The object was definitely a triangle and guessing the size could have been around 60-75 ft in length. The location when first spotted was just above the high-rise buildings in downtown Salt Lake. It appeared to be about 1,250-1,500 ft in the sky."

The sighting was shared by author Scott C. Waring, on his blog UFO Sightings Daily.

Scott said: "This is something very cool. A large black triangle was seen over Salt Lake City. The object seem to have a clear or reflective hump on its lower centre that was semi-transparent, as the screenshot shows.

"This object held position not moving, which means it's not one of the Stealth fighter jets often seen over Utah.

"However it might be a USAF TR3B or triangle craft using the Stealth fighter design and body. But the fact that it's sunset and the USAF would not fly a TR3B during the day to keep it hidden from the public makes me know that this is 100 per cent a real alien craft.

"This is a UFO."

An 'impossible' object has been discovered by student Tyrone O'Doherty (NASA/ESA/Hubble Heritage Team)

And recently, scientists believed they may have found proof of an alien life form after spotting an "impossible" spinning object 4,000 light years away.

The mysterious device was sending repeat radio signals every 18 minutes, and is unlike anything ever seen before in space, astronomers said.

Observations showed it was releasing a giant burst of energy three times an hour.

Astrophysicist Dr Natasha Hurley-Walker "broke out in a cold sweat" as she contemplated a potential breakthrough in the search for extraterrestrial life.

She said she asked herself if this was "the moment we finally found that the truth is… out there?"

News of the Mosul Orb was shared earlier in January, as two investigators claimed the US military was investigating an 'unidentified flying orb ' after the huge metallic-looking structure was spotted by a spy plane over an active conflict zone.

The image, taken in April 2016, was part of a classified briefing for US officials and was shared by Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp, on their podcast 'Weaponized'.

Produced by the Pentagon's Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, the briefing described the object moving from south to north, but noted that it didn't change altitude.

Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp discussed the image at length on their podcast, Weaponized (Jeremy Corbell/Weaponized)

What the orb is remains unclear, but according to Jeremy and George, the US military are taking the matter seriously as they believe it was under 'intelligent control'.

Speaking on the podcast, Jeremy said: "Here's the very basics - it's called the Mosul orb, it's an image taken in Northern Iraq.

"This is in the UFO category within our intelligence community. This is an example of one of the UFOs that our military and intelligence community are looking at.

"It's one of many images, this one is a still from a video. It's a brief video, maybe four seconds, where this orb or metallic ball runs alongside a spy plane and its shown moving beside the plane without dropping altitude at all.

"This is within part of the conversation of our intelligence community, this is what they're looking at

"Isn't it funny? UFOs are often reported in four basic shapes, you've got spheres, pyramids, cubes, and cigars. Very fundamental shapes, totally not aerodynamic at all.

"You've got a flying cube, a flying sphere? These shapes are not aerodynamic.

"This is one of the pieces of video and photographic evidence that is within the intelligence community, saying 'this is a UFO, we caught one, what can we determine from it'."
