PSV star 'kicked door off its hinges' after Rangers goal

PSV star Luuk de Jong "kicked a door off its hinges" inside Ibrox during half-time of tonight's Champions League tie.

Rangers took a 1-0 lead moments before half-time in the play-off clash with their Dutch foes.

Abdallah Sima sent a wonderful curling strike past Walter Benítez in the PSV goal. The 22-year-old's shot was fired straight into the far top corner, leaving the goalkeeper no chance.

The Brighton loanee's strike sent a packed Ibrox crowd wild after they watched their team suffer for the majority of the game up until that point.

The goal came against the run of play, with Peter Bosz's side enjoying the better of the proceedings during the first half of the game.

Joey Veerman and Ibrahim Sangare in particular were dominating the ball for the Eredivisie side.

However, despite PSV clearly being on top, it was Rangers who took advantage of the first leg with the goal.

This clearly angered their captain, De Jong.

According to TNT Sports presenter Emma Dodds, the experienced forward took a door inside the Ibrox tunnel off its hinges by kicking it through his immense frustrations that he and his teammates had just lost a goal.

She made the statement while speaking during the break in the game, as the teams entered the field again.

It was almost a carbon copy of the first leg at the same stage of Champions League qualifying last term.

Antonio Colak scored minutes before half-time in that game, but it was PSV who again enjoyed the best of the play.

PSV since leveled tonight's game on 61 minutes through Sangare.
