It's thought King Charles could ban Prince Andrew from wearing ceremonial robes at his Coronation ceremony this Spring - just days after evicting Prince Harry and Meghan Mackle from Frogmore Cottage - so he could move in. It's claimed the Duke of York is furious about being kept in the dark over the decision in whether he can dress in the grand velvet robes.
There was outrage last week after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were told to pack their bags and make way for Andrew at the Windsor estate. They're now in the process of making arrangements for their belongings to be shipped over to their home in California.
King Charles is now said to be torn over whether to allow his disgraced brother to don the theatrical regalia after Andrew was forced to step back from royal duties following a sex abuse scandal. He later had to pay £12million in an out of court settlement to his accuser, Virginia Giuffre.
One source has said the Duke of York had been “left completely in the dark" over his role and required dress for the coronation, despite other attendees being notified ahead of time.
"Andrew is furious. He’s already not playing a part and now he feels he is being disrespected and dictated to over something he is fully entitled to (wear),” the royal insider went on to add.
The upcoming coronation could finally put to bed the ongoing feud between the Sussexes and Windsors, according to an ex-friend of Meghan Markle. In comments to The Mirror, the Duchess of Sussex's former friend Lizzie Cundy, 54, says the coronation could be a moment to boost morale and 'make Britain great again'.
Lizzie believes that despite yearslong feud within the family, the coronation could help them come together. Speaking to The Mirror, model Lizzie said: "I think the Coronation is coming at the right time.
"It will inject new life and positive feeling to our new King as it will bring the nation together over such tough times such as coronavirus, the high cost of living crisis and all the terrible interviews that Harry and Meghan have done against the King and the Royal Family.
"I think the public need to be reminded how amazing our monarchy is, it's like no other in the world and how we must respect it and see how good it is for our own country and what hid it does like helping so many charities."
