Popular Glasgow southside restaurant to feature on The Hairy Bikers TV show this week

One of Glasgow's most talked about restaurants is set to appear on TV this week, with the Hairy Bikers stopping by for a visit.

Julie's Kopitiam, which is found on Pollokshaws Road in Shawlands, will star in The BBC's Hairy Bikers Go Local on Wednesday, January 4, with owner Julie Lin, who is no stranger to TV herself, joining hosts Dave Myers and Si King.

The pair are on an important mission, to "play matchmaker" and bring together the "best local restaurants with the most innovative local suppliers".

Speaking about the episode, Julie posted an image of the pair outside her popular Malaysian eatery on Instagram, adding: "It's ya girl and The Hairy Bikers. Finally, I can share this. I still can’t believe this happened, and I’m still so grateful."

Adding the date it will air, she said the episode will air at 8 pm on BBC2.

She stated: "These are two of the biggest names I’ve worked with to date and they were the most down-to-earth, kind, humble, supportive souls. The whole week was a pleasure.

"Si and Dave, thank you for gracing our doors, it was our pleasure."
