Police officer charged with domestic violence assault

A police officer has been suspended with pay while he waits to face court charged with domestic violence offences.

The 28-year-old senior constable was released on bail to face Picton Local Court on May 16.

He was charged on Wednesday, accused of accessing or modifying restricted data 14 times, NSW Police said in a statement.

Following further investigation, he was arrested on Thursday and charged with five domestic violence related assaults, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, three counts of stalk or intimidate intending fear of physical harm, and two counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.

The senior constable came under investigation after reports of multiple alleged domestic violence offences in November 2023.
