Police hunting 'violent' man who threw bricks through ex's window

A "bully and violent" man who sent his ex abusive messages and threw bricks through her window is wanted on recall to prison.

Adam Kay was 29 when he was jailed for terrorising a woman who he had been in a relationship with, calling her a fat s*** and warning her 'watch what happens next'. On March 29, 2022, Liverpool Crown Court heard he also went round to her house, found a hammer and then used it to smash headlights on her car.

Recorder Ian Harris labelled Kay's behaviour spoilt and selfish. Catherine Ellis, prosecuting, said Kay was in an on-off relationship with the women but was ordered not to contact her after separate court proceedings in 2021.

Recorder Ian Harris said Kay’s behaviour, towards his ex and later towards police, was “spoilt and selfish”.

“I find that you are a bullying and violent offender. You have behaved in a spoilt and selfish way.

“You wanted to get your way. You became violent and ill tempered when asked questions and this was evident even in interviews with police.”

Kay, of Caldy Grove, St Helens, was jailed for 22 months after pleading guilty to harassment and criminal damage.

Kay, now 31, has been released from prison on licence after serving his sentence but has now breached his conditions. Merseyside Police say he is 5ft 8in tall, medium tall and has brown hair.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "If you see him or hold any information, contact us via @MerPolCC on Twitter, ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with reference 230000402381."
