Sam Fender fan found safe after going missing following St James' Park gig

A Sam Fender fan who went missing following Saturday's gig at St James' Park has been found safe, police have confirmed.

The 55-year-old called Fred was reported missing at around 11pm on June 10 after attending the Sam Fender concert at St James’ Park.

He was last seen at Leazes Park, Newcastle, but did not return home, sparking an appeal from Durham Constabulary for help to find him.

Now the force has confirmed that Fred from Darlington has now been found safe and thanked the public for sharing the appeal.

In a Tweet, the force said: "We are pleased to let you all know that Fred has been found and is safe. Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal to find him – it really does make a difference."
