An Edinburgh Polish supermarket on one of the capital's busiest streets is set to be transformed into a restaurant.
A planning application has been validated by the City of Edinburgh Council which would see the Zabka Sklep supermarket on Leith Walk become a dine-in restaurant.
It is currently unknown what type of restaurant the unit would become, but the current owner of the building is behind the plans to replace their grocers with a new eatery.

With Leith Walk now more vibrant than ever following the recent launch of the new tram link to Newhaven, businesses are beginning to see a rise in customers and takings following years of concern.
The current floorplan for the building at 249-251 Leith Walk, shows room made available for sales only, but the spacious ground floor is set to allow for multiple seating covers as shown in proposed plans.
To the rear of the property, two large external extract ducts would be installed to meet the required regulations for food to be prepared onsite, with a large cooking area and canopy to be erected in the corner of the ground floor.
A male and female, as well as accessible toilet would also be implemented within the restaurant. A decision on the application is expected soon, with the full plans available for public viewing here.
