Photographer Sues Megan Thee Stallion Over Workplace Abuse

Megan Thee Stallion arrives at the Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, May 15, 2022, in Las Vegas. A photographer who worked for the hip-hop star said in a lawsuit filed Tuesd

A photographer who previously worked for a well-known hip-hop star has filed a lawsuit claiming he was subjected to a series of distressing events while employed by the artist. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that the photographer was forced to witness a sexual encounter involving the artist and another individual during a night out in Ibiza, Spain. The photographer stated that he felt embarrassed and offended during the incident, as he was unable to leave the moving vehicle.

Following the incident, the photographer was reportedly instructed by the artist not to discuss what he had seen and was subsequently subjected to verbal abuse and fat-shaming. The lawsuit further claims that the photographer had expressed concerns about his working conditions, including being overworked and underpaid in a hostile environment. Despite raising these issues with the artist, the photographer was terminated from his position the following day.

The lawsuit also alleges that the photographer was misclassified as an independent contractor but was treated as an exclusive employee. The photographer has since filed a job discrimination complaint with the California Civil Rights Department and is seeking financial damages for the emotional and physical distress he has endured.

The artist's lawyer has stated that they intend to contest the lawsuit in court, characterizing it as an employment claim for monetary compensation. The lawsuit names the artist, her entertainment companies, and her label as defendants. A response from the defense has not yet been filed.

This legal action comes after the artist was involved in a high-profile shooting incident in 2020, where she was the victim of an attack by another rapper. The perpetrator was subsequently convicted and sentenced to prison. Despite the challenges she has faced, the artist has continued to achieve success in her music career, winning a Grammy and releasing chart-topping singles.
