Peter Ogden net worth | Evening Standard Tech Rich List

Peter Ogden

Peter Ogden obtained a PhD in theoretical physics and a Harvard Business School MBA, as well as working as a managing director at JPMorgan before founding Computacenter with Philip Hulme in 1981, serving as its chairman for 17 years.

By 1994, the business was the largest privately owned IT company in the UK, and in 1998 it floated on the London Stock Exchange, at which point Ogden became a non-executive director. He still holds a 6.5% stake in the business.

Ogden received a knighthood in 1999 for his work with The Ogden Trust, a charity he founded in 1999 to “help bright kids from poor backgrounds”.

Besides Computacentre, Ogden and Hulme also co-founded Deallogic, which was sold for $700m in 2014.

Ogden also co-owns MotorSport vision, which operates six tracks in the UK including Donington Park, and - alongside Hulme - is the leaseholder of the 22-acre Channel Island of Jethou.

Ogden is involved in takeover talks with Rochdale AFC, providing emergency funding to keep the club afloat.
