Paul Rudd had the absolute best time watching Wrexham get promoted

If you haven’t been keeping track of the journey of Wrexham A.F.C., it’s time. The Welsh football team has been the subject of FX’s documentary Welcome to Wrexham, following along as actors Rob McElhenney (Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mythic Quest) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Free Guy) purchase and attempt to run a club.

The show is full of heart and emotion as we get to feel the heartbreak and excitement of a team looking to break free of the National League and back into the fourth tier of the English Football League pyramid.

Everyone got a sneak-peek of what Season 2 has in store for us as Wrexham ended a 15-year drought in the lower level by winning promotion with a 3-1 victory over Boreham Wood on Sunday. McElhenney and Reynolds were in attendance, as was fellow actor Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, Anchorman),

And Rudd had the time of his life. Before the game, he spent time at The Turf Pub, a local watering hole about half a mile from Wrexham’s stadium.

As Wrexham ran out extra time with the lead, Rudd wisely thought to take video of his friends reacting. The result was an emotional McElhenney and Reynolds as they realized exactly what was unfolding on the pitch in front of them.

Rudd seemed to have the absolute best time meeting local Wrexham fans and taking in an incredible match. You love to see it.
