Opening date announced for new Beeston pub and restaurant with a twist

Work to transform a closed Beeston pub is nearing the final stages. The Blackshale Bar & Kitchen will reopen next month under the ownership of Hucknall-based Lincoln Green Brewing Company with cask ales headlining.

The company has taken over the White Lion on the corner of Station Road and Middle Street and has spent the last few weeks dividing it into two separate entities, each with a brand new look. A third of the the building will still be a traditional pub and will retain the name but the remaining two thirds will be a contemporary dining experience with an unusual twist. Instead of matching food with wine, it will be paired with different craft beers.

The £625,000 revamp has another three weeks to go before the Blackshale Bar & Kitchen opens to the public on Tuesday, July 11. Bookings have opened. An opening date for the White Lion has yet to be announced.
