New Wishaw mobile takeaway aims to be right up customers' street

A cook hopes his new food van will set him apart from the competition.

Peter Stieranka is the owner of Bistro, a new mobile takeaway offering street food in Wishaw.

Following his success with a similar concept in Carluke, Peter hopes his new venture will be the talk of the town.

The van is situated on Roberts Street, beside the Cosmic Flame Cheerleading Academy.

Having opened just a few days ago, Peter says business is already booming with local people keen to try his fayre.

He told Lanarkshire Live: "Wishaw was an easy next step for us after the success of the Bistro in Carluke.

"We had a lot of customers from here who said that people here love their food and are always keen to try something new.

"That has been evident with the number of customers we have had. It has been so busy and people are really enjoying coming to try the food we have."

Serving up fries, burgers, french toast and toasties, Peter decided to keep the menu simple but as fresh as possible.

Everything is locally sourced and made to order, with nothing being cooked from frozen.

He said: "I like everything to be fresh, it is better for the customers.

"We have a simple menu but there are some delicious items on there.

"People have been a big fan of the food so far, and being able to order food online for pick up and delivery is also something that is handy for them.

"I'm really excited to have the van open and hope to see lots of new people coming to try it out."
