New In Latin Music: Shakira's LMYNL, Peso Pluma Sings With Family And Danny Ocean Gets Defiant

MIAMI -Shakira has taken over the news cycle in Latin music with the very awaited release of her new album "Las mujeres ya no lloran," but her new songs were not the only big tracks that came out during the third week of March.

Fans of Mexican regional music are celebrating with new music from Xavi and Peso Pluma, who brought his cousin and parts of his team to the mic. Meanwhile, Yahritza y su Esencia released a cover of a very famous song, and Los Tigres del Norte outdid themselves with a painful cortavenas track.

Luis Fonsi joined forces with Spanish urban artist Omar Montes, while Danny Ocean took on people who wanted to impose their views on others. Elena Rose sings an empowering self love anthem, while Anitta, Brray, and Bad Gyal created a sexy funk-carioca anthem.

New in Mexican music

Some say vengeance is a dish better served cold, and more so when dealing with a lover's betrayal... this is what LOS TIGRES DEL NORTE convey in their new single. "La Venganza" is the third advance single of what will become the new production of 'Los jefes de jefes,' a melodic rhythm composed by Erika Ender, who adequately portrays someone's courage when their partner takes advantage of their love and waits patiently for karma to catch up to them so they can get their long awaited revenge.

Yahritza y su Esencia's new song is a cover of Marco Antonio Solís "La Cárcel." Her sweet voice gives a deeper poignancy to lyrics like "nadie es perfecto y tú lo sabras."

"Corazón de Piedra," the latest release from Xavi, marks his first single of 2024. In this new track, he reinforces his talent for writing hard-hitting breakup anthems. Featuring his powerful and signature timeless voice backed by resonating requinto strings, the new sierreño song exudes a relatable story about bidding farewell to an ex-lover.

But not everything is heart ache and party in Latin music

Colombian singer-songwriter Fonseca, 8-time Latin Grammy winner, premiered his new single "Colección de Recuerdos", an exceptional romantic bolero in collaboration with legendary music masters Gilberto Santa Rosa and Chucho Valdés, available now on all digital platforms.

Shakira and Cardi B. also sing to a new lover in "Puntería," while Elena Rose celebrates self love in "Me Lo Merezco".

"100XCIENTO" is a new Foreign Teck track featuring Eladio Carrion, Delaghetto, and Wisin. The producer continues to push boundaries and leave his mark on the music world. The music video for "100XCIENTO" is set to be an homage to baseball, featuring famous players like Edwin Sugar Diaz and Francisco Lindor, as well as Dominican comedian Radel Ortiz, showcasing the significant influence of MLB in this project. It would be a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into Foreign Teck's incredible career and the profound impact he has had on the industry.
