New affordable homes are ready for tenants

New council homes have been delivered in the Eagle Brae and Deans South areas of Livingston.

Tenants have already started to move in at Eagle Brae which is located at the site of a former West Lothian Council depot.

The Eagle Brae development features 29 homes consisting of one-bedroom cottage flats; two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and two and three-bedroom bungalows.

Meanwhile, the site at Deans South also features 29 new homes including a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and two and three-bedroom bungalows. The first phase of this project (11 properties), has been completed and tenants will be moving in shortly.

The development at Deans South is part of the wider redevelopment of the area.

Executive councillor for housing services George Paul recently accompanied officers from the council’s housing service and partners from CCG and Hypostyle Architects on visits to both locations.

Cllr Paul said: “West Lothian Council remains committed to delivering new, social housing for the people of West Lothian.

“I would like to thank all the partners and council officers involved in these developments and hope tenants will enjoy their new homes.”

CCG Managing Director, David Wylie, said: “We are extremely proud to have supported West Lothian Council in the delivery of 58 much-needed, affordable homes in Livingston."
