Netflix 'Somebody Feed Phil’ filming in Glasgow as Shawarma King tease appearance

Glasgow is home to some pretty insane food spots regardless of what cuisine you're in the mood for - and it looks like Netflix is in agreement with one popular man and his show potentially about to prove just that.

Taking to Instagram, Glasgow's Shawarma King uploaded a series of pictures to their stories today (July 10) with Netflix GIFs posted on top of the pictures before tagging Philip Rosenthal - the man behind the hit Netflix food show, Somebody Feed Phil.

They later thanked the American television writer for coming to their eatery, located near the city centre and east end. Although it is not clear what they are filming, with the King Street fast food spot having won Scotland’s Best kebab House for 2023 and 2022, all hints suggest they could soon appear on his Netflix show.

In their post the Glasgow takeaway spot wrote: "@phil.rosenthal Thanks very much for visiting us was really nice to meet you and so glad you enjoyed our shawarma" followed by a smile face emoji.

It comes after a video went viral on TikTok with a confused Edinburgh tourist left puzzled after spotting the star wandering the streets of the capital with the comments shocked to see him in Scotland. Edinburgh Live reports that the creator of Everybody Loves Raymond was in the capital ahead of a talk at the Usher Hall on Saturday (July 8) about his current Netflix hit.

And now it could be that he is filming an episode all about Scotland as he works his way through the top cities and their most talked about spots to grab a bite to eat.

‘Somebody Feed Phil’ will enter its seventh season soon with the presenter teasing that Netflix has picked it up for more episodes in February of this year - although the air date is currently unknown.
