Nelly Korda, the LGPA golfer who recently made headlines for her bid for a historic sixth straight victory, has officially withdrawn from the upcoming JM Eagle LA Championship. The tournament is set to begin on Thursday at the prestigious Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles.

Korda's decision to withdraw comes on the heels of her remarkable fifth consecutive win at the Chevron Championship near Houston, which also marked her second career major victory. This impressive feat tied her with golf legends Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam.

In a statement released on the LPGA Tour website, Korda expressed that the choice to withdraw was not an easy one. She cited the physical and mental toll of competing in four events over the past five weeks, culminating in her recent triumph at the Chevron Championship. Feeling exhausted, Korda emphasized the importance of listening to her body and prioritizing rest to ensure she is prepared for the remainder of the season.

While Korda did not specify her return date to competitive play, her decision means she will miss the JM Eagle LA Championship in Los Angeles this week. The next event on the LPGA Tour calendar is the Cognizant Founders Cup scheduled to take place in New Jersey from May 9-12, followed by the U.S. Women's Open in Pennsylvania from May 30-June 2.

Despite stepping back from immediate competition, Korda's recent string of victories has solidified her status as one of the top contenders in women's golf. Fans and fellow competitors alike will be eagerly awaiting her return to the course as she continues her pursuit of excellence in the sport.
