Motorbike rider injured in crash, Adamstown railway crossing closed

Update:

ROADS near an Adamstown railway crossing remain closed this morning as police piece together a motorbike and car crash.

Emergency services were called to Glebe Road near Park Avenue after reports of a collision just before 9am on Friday.

One man aged in his 20s, who was riding the motorbike, was treated at the scene for a leg injury.

Ambulance NSW paramedics transported him to John Hunter Hospital for further medical help.

Road closures remained in place about 12.30pm on Friday while police investigate the circumstances of the crash and travellers should avoid the area.

A MOTORBIKE rider is being treated for injuries and morning traffic has been thrown into chaos after a crash near the Adamstown railway crossing.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at Glebe Road just before 9am on Friday after reports a car and a motorcycle had collided.

Ambulance paramedics confirmed one man, the rider of the motorbike, was being treated at the scene for suspected leg injuries.

Police were also deployed and were diverting traffic around the crash site.

Officers warned morning commuters that there was no access through the railway gates at Adamstown while emergency services worked at the scene.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area," a police spokesperson said.

Commuters should avoid St James Road, east of Bridges Road; Glebe Road, west of Brunker Road; and Park Avenue, between Northcott Drive and Glebe Road.
