Milly Alcock and Matt Smith lead star-studded arrivals at House Of The Dragon premiere

Milly Alcock and Doctor Who star Matt Smith led the star-studded arrivals on the red carpet of the House Of The Dragon premiere.

Held in London, the ceremony is celebrating the highly-anticipated launch of the new Sky series which is the prequel to Game of Thrones.

Milly, who plays princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, looked glamourous as she stepped out in front of the cameras at the Sky Group Premiere in Leicester Square this evening.

She wore a beautiful black gown, while Matt opted for a swanky suit with an all-black buttoned suit coat to match his black-tie attire.

Olivia Cooke stunned in a red velvet floor length dress, while Sonoya Mizuno opted for a sheer black number.

Also in attendance was Love Island star Luke Trotman who stepped out with his new fiancée Chelsea Menna.

It was the first time the pair has been seen since they recently engaged.

Luke looked suave in a black blazer, with no shirt underneath, and black trousers. He added to the look with a pink dye job on his head and beard.

Chelsea matched her fiancé in a simple sleeveless black dress with cut outs around the waist area.

Tallia Storm, Emily Carey and Betty Bachz were also in attendance.

House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO Max in the US on Sunday, August 21 and will be available in the UK on Sky Atlantic and NOW on Monday, August 22.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s “ Fire & Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen.

Matt, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel and Rhys Ifans will all star in the new show.

Additional cast members include Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney and Jefferson Hall.

Speaking of his role, Doctor Who star Matt, who plays Daemon, told Sky News: “I suppose that Thrones left a huge cultural footprint.

“We're never going to be able to lay the same one, but we're trying to do something original and something new and something that feels like it speaks our own.”

It also stars David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, and Savannah Steyn.

Martin and Ryan Condal serve as co-creators on the series.

Miguel Sapochnik and Condal are showrunners, and the pair also serve as executive producers along with Martin, Sara Hess, Jocelyn Diaz, Vince Gerardis and Ron Schmidt.

Clare Kilner and Geeta Vasant Patel also direct the series. Greg Yaitanes is director and co-executive producer. Game of Thrones and Westworld composer Ramin Djawadi scored the series.

Matt, talking of his character, told Empire: “Daemon is there to cause chaos and p*** people off because, simply, it entertains him.”

He hinted at a rivalry between his character and with Otto Hightower, played by Rhys Ifans.

“[Daemon] and Otto loathe one another,” he added.

“They’re winding each other up, needling one another. And in the middle of it is Paddy, who plays Viserys. They’re both vying for his attention and his love.”

House Of The Dragon premieres on August 22 on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
