Michelle Keegan was thrown in at the deep end as she was back in the chilly climes of Manchester after jetting back from Australia. It is the first time the former Coronation Street star has been seen in the UK after spending months Down Under working on a new project for the BBC.
She jetted off to Oz to film her latest project back in May. She will star in the new BBC drama Ten Pound Poms, created by Bafta-award winner Danny Brocklehurst who she has previously worked with on the Sky comedy drama Brassic and BBC drama series Ordinary Lies.
The drama is set to follow a group who have been promised a better quality of life in Australia for only £10, leaving behind post-war Britain. Michelle, from Stockport, will lead the six-part series alongside Games Of Thrones star Faye Marsay and Luther actor Warren Brown.
The actress, who will play a young nurse called Kate in the new drama, who arrives in Australia without her fiance and will do whatever it takes to “rewrite her devastating past”, also shared a glimpse into Australia living while away from home and away from her husband, Mark Wright.
Former TOWIE star Mark did, however, get to visit his wife of seven years and recently shared how they adapted to a long-distance relationship. "We were based in Sydney and Bondi Beach, but Michelle was working a lot so we didn’t really leave the city that much," Mark, 35, told Hello! "We did go to the Northern Beaches and had lots of nice meals and I also climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge."
But Michelle, who played Tina McIntyre in Corrie from 2008 to 2014, is now firmly back on UK soil as she was spotted filming her latest scenes for the Sky comedy Brassic. The highly anticipated fourth series returned to screens just last week.
The show - also starring This Is England’s Joe Gilgun and Corrie youngster Jude Riordan - was originally released in 2019 and seasons one to three follows Vinnie and his mates, who haven’t got two pennies to rub together. It sees broke band of brothers finds themselves in a web of petty crime, which often ends in disaster as they wind up in over their heads.
The first episode of the new series saw the cast 'hit the road for Ringo and Babs' Welsh wedding'. It came as the final episode of season three saw Erin 'run away' with her son Tyler, leaving Vinnie and her friends behind. But she wasn't gone for long and it seems certain she'll be back for another series.
Michelle has been snapped looking gorgeous while donning a purple Argyle mini dress on set of the Sky Max comedy in Manchester. The 35-year-old showed off a hint of a bronzed glow as she paraded her toned pins in the thigh-skimming number which had been teamed with a pair of knee-high black boots.
She was all seen in some images keeping warm in a furry black hooded jacket while the former soap star's glossy brunette locks had been swept up into a loose up 'do, which was being kept in place with a patterned silk ribbon.
Michelle appeared on top from as she enjoyed chats and a laugh with her co-stars and the show's crew members between takes. She was also spotted clutching onto a bottle of water as the northern sunshine did being to show. Michelle was also being escorted around under a black umbrella.
Also joining her for the filming of series five was fellow Corrie alumni Bhavna Limbachia, 38, who will play the part of Meena. Viewers will probably best remember her for playing Rana Habeeb in the ITV soap. The character tragically died on her wedding day three years ago following the collapse of the Underworld factory.
Rana was set to tie the knot with Kate Connor, played by Faye Brookes, when the building collapsed with her inside. As Corrie viewers know, the blame for her death lies with Gary Windass, which he's been keeping a secret while leaving ex-loan shark boss Rick Neelan to take the blame after killing him.
And back to Michelle, she'll soon be looking forward to moving into her dream home as it nears completion. Last week the couple gave fans a glimpse of the latest addition to their extravagant £3.5 million property in Essex. The have been keeping their dedicated fans up to date with the progress of their home on their Instagram account @wrightyhome, which has now amassed more than 430,000 followers.
The married couple bought a mock-Tudor style house in Essex back in October 2019 and began knocking it down in July 2020 to rebuild their very own luxury, Georgian-style mansion. Most recently, while Michelle was still away, Mark showed off the latest luxury addition to be installed in their home, which was an impressive mosaic spa.
