Michael Owen and Love Island star daughter Gemma lead celebs at Chelsea Flower Show

Love Island's Gemma Owen posed with her footballer dad Michael as the pair led the celebrity turnout on the first day of the Chelsea Flower Show today.

The reality star, 20, looked summer-ready in a pink and white floral mini dress which featured button details and long voluminous sleeves.

She paired the frock with a gold chain bracelet and layered gold necklaces and carried a small pale pink and black handbag.

The daughter of the famous footballer wore her long brunette locks in subtle waves around her shoulders and completed the look with a pair of strappy neutral wedges.

Dad Michael Owen looked dapper in a pale blue jacket over an open white shirt, navy trousers and navy suede trainers as he turned out for the show's Press Day.

Gemma gained a large following after she appeared on Love Island last summer and came in second place with Luca Bish.

Their romance was short-lived as they went their separate ways in November last year.

The dad-and-daughter duo were joined at the opening of the event in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea by Dame Joanna Lumley.

The Absolutely Fabulous star wore a striking trouser suit combination for the day's floral festivities.

She donned a beige fedora had which complimented her abstract patterned navy blue jacket and glittery gold trainers.

The actress hit headlines this month as she lead celebrities in urging Rishi Sunak to keep Tory pledges on boosting animal welfare.

The hints of leopard print on her jacket gave a subtle nod to her latest philanthropic work as she signed a letter calling on the Prime Minister to deliver on Conservative promises made in 2021 - including to drive through new legislation to tackle abuse of animals and bolster protections.

The Dame was joined by Vanessa Feltz who turned heads in a gorgeous red, white and green floral trouser suit co-ord.

The newly single 61-year-old looked stunning as she shaded her eyes with a dramatic pair of white sunglasses and wore her blonde tresses in subtle waves around her shoulders.

Billie Piper went against the floral trend of the event and opted for a chic all-black outfit.

The former Doctor Who star, 40, paired an oversized blazer with a pair of baggy trousers and chunky black sandals.

The telly star was left disappointed earlier this month after missing out on winning the Leading Actress gong at the BAFTAs to Kate Winslet.

Husband and wife duo Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes stepped out for a morning of botanical fun alongside the other celebrities.

The pair, who recently told how they loved starring alongside each other in ITV drama Stonehouse, looked happy as ever as they posed for snaps in the gardens.

Ben Fogel and his wife Marina also made an appearance.

The presenter, author and adventurer – who has been back on TV recently with a new series of Channel 5’s New Lives In The Wild – beamed next to his wife as they stepped out wearing matching navy and white ensembles.

Former TV presenter Baroness Floella Benjamin looked radiant in a knee-length dress which exploded with colour, complimenting the floral arrangements around her.

BBC Radio 2 host Jo Whiley was a vision in rainbow colours as she donned a head-ache inducing flowing multi-colour dress.

She paired the strappy vibrant look with a chunky necklace and a pair of statement glasses.

Gardening royalty Alan Titchmarsh was of course in attendance, looking dapper in a blue suit and matching tie.

Later today, the celebrity crowds will be joined by newly crowned King Charles III and Queen Camilla, who counts the gardener as a friend after inviting Alan for tea at the palace, just a day before he became king.

The One Show's Alex Jones attended the bloom-filled event alongside Irish actress and comedian Aisling Bea.

TV presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba looked ravishing a burgundy velvet suit which he'd expertly paired with an eye-catching geometric print shirt and dark sunglasses.

The theme for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show is inclusivity and guests are in for a treat this week as carnival performers and other surprises make appearances around the grounds.

The event will this year be missing the unwavering presence of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was a regular at the show for more than 70 years.

Her son, the newly crowned King Charles III, and Queen Camilla will follow in her footsteps and are due to attend today before the show officially opens to the public on Tuesday.

Amongst the A-List crowd today were ITV's Charlotte Hawkins and Mark Heyes.

The Good Morning Britain star, 46, embraced the warm spring weather in a white and red polka dot dress, while TV stylish Mark opted for more muted tones in a mint green shirt and beige jacket.

The ITV duo beamed as they shrugged off the recent drama surrounding their colleagues Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning.

Fellow ITV star Lisa Snowdon attended the show wearing a gorgeous navy blue minidress.

The 51-year-old presenter stepped out just days after she revealed that the menopause left her feeling so defeated she contemplated ending her own life when she hit rock bottom.

Stephen Graham was also among the crowds, looking suave in a navy suit and black shirt, just weeks after he hit out at his critics after being told to “get a proper job”.

The actor last month received an OBE for his services to drama after being named in the New Year’s Honours List.
