Martin Short And Meryl Streep Enjoy Dinner With Friends

Meryl Streep poses for a picture

Martin Short, 73, and Meryl Streep, 74, were recently spotted enjoying a delightful dinner with friends at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. An eyewitness shared that the longtime friends and costars of Only Murders in the Building were having a fantastic time, with lots of laughter and overall enjoyment throughout the evening.

Short and Streep were all smiles as they left the popular Italian restaurant, with Streep donning a stylish ensemble of black pants, a hot pink button-down shirt, and a red jacket, while Short opted for a gray sweater and black blazer.

Speculation about a romantic relationship between the two arose last month after their close interaction at the Golden Globes, but both Short and a representative clarified that they are simply close friends and not romantically involved.

Short, who was previously married to actress Nancy Dolman until her passing in 2010, has three children with her. Streep, on the other hand, separated from her husband of 45 years in 2020 and has four children with him.

Despite their personal lives, fans can look forward to seeing Short and Streep reunite on screen in the upcoming season of Only Murders in the Building. Streep will be reprising her role as theater actress Loretta Durkin, the love interest of Short's character Oliver Putnam.

For those eager to catch up on the series, the first three seasons of Only Murders in the Building are available for streaming on Hulu. Stay updated on the latest celebrity news and human interest stories by signing up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter.
