A man has died of a "suspected medical episode" near Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland National Park.
Emergency services, including Northumbria Police, Mountain Rescue teams, and the Great North Air Ambulance were called out to the National Park on Monday afternoon, with the incident occurring near to Steel Rigg Car Park, close to Sycamore Gap in Henshaw, Hexham.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after midday today (Monday) officers received a report of concern for the welfare of a man near the Steel Rigg car park in Northumberland.

"Emergency services attended and found a man who had suffered a suspected medical episode.
"Sadly, the man was confirmed to be deceased at the scene. The man’s next of kin are aware and a report will be made for the coroner."
The area is popular with tourists visiting one of the most well known sections of Hadrian's Wall.
A spokesperson for the Great North Air Ambulance confirmed that it had reached the scene fifteen minutes after receiving the call, saying: "Our critical care team were activated at 12.12pm to reports of a medical incident near Steel Rigg, Northumberland. They arrived on scene at 12.27pm."
