Man charged with attempted murder after two pensioners stabbed in Ealing

A man has been charged with attempted murder after two pensioners were stabbed in west London.

Officers were scrambled to Gordon Road in Ealing after reports of a man wielding a knife.

Police found a man and a woman in their 70s with stab injuries.

They were taken to hospital where their injuries were assessed as not life-threatening after the incident at just before 8.15am on Wednesday.

A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene after the incident just before 8.15am on 7 February.

Reece McLean, 31, of Gordon Road, was charged on Friday with two counts of attempted murder, one count of wounding with intent and one count of possession of a knife.

A police statement said: “We were called at 08:14hrs on Wednesday, 7 February to reports of a man with a knife in Gordon Road.

“Police found a man and a woman in their 70s with stab injuries. They were taken to hospital where their injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.

“A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene after the incident just before 8.15am on 7 February.”

Following an investigation, Reece McLean, 31, of Gordon Road, was charged on Friday, 9 February with two counts of attempted murder, one count of wounding with intent and one count of possession of a knife.
