Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter shocks co-stars with brutal dig at Eurovision's Mae Muller

Janet Street-Porter left her Loose Women co-stars stunned after making a savage dig at UK Eurovision entry Mae Muller.

The song contest was the first talking point on Monday's episode of the ITV talk show, after Saturday's Liverpool spectacular saw Sweden take the crown while the UK finished second-last ahead of Germany. 25-year-old Mae failed to impress with her hit I Wrote A Song, bagging just 24 points for the UK compared to Sam Ryder's whopping 466 points last year.

As the panel shared their thoughts on Eurovision, Janet pulled no punches when it came to her verdict on Mae Muller. "I couldn't stop admiring the costumes - I thought they were absolutely brilliant," she said.

Janet went on: "I think one of the reasons we didn't score so well might be that [Mae's] outfit was just a bit plain. It was a bit ordinary compared to what had gone before."

The panel went on to praise Eurovision's power to bring people together, and the incredible effort from the UK when it came to hosting the contest on behalf of Ukraine. But Janet still wasn't impressed by Mae's performance, remarking: "When it came to our song, it was like Lily Allen from about 10 years ago."

The comment drew some shocked gasps from the Loose Women audience, while Janet's co-stars were also taken aback by her brutal remark. Brenda Edwards was seen pulling an awkward face, as Judi Love exclaimed: "Wow, wow, wow!"

"You didn't think it was Eurovision-y enough?" Ruth Langsford asked.

Janet hit back: "No! Even my dog went and had a lie down," leading the audience to burst into laughter. The panel then joked that they could be next year's Eurovision entry - but Janet wasn't impressed, rolling her eyes as her co-stars suggested that she could twerk on stage.
