Lily Allen gives Glastonbury 'survivors' her top tips to handle festival comedown

Lily Allen has been performed a public service announcement by listing what you've got to do post Glastonbury - and what you simply must avoid.

The Smile singer, who is no stranger to the Pyramid stage or the Pilton party site, is something of an expert when it comes to surviving the post-festival blues.

Even though her life has very much changed after four years of sobriety, the 38-year-old mum to Ethel and Marnie is well versed when it comes to the morning after the night before.

Whether you were boogying to Elton John at Worthy Farm or parked in front of the TV after a roasting Sunday, Lily's advice must be heeded.

But like the festival clean up, it can take days and even months to fully recover, warns Lily.

She stressed there are things you need to totally avoid when it comes to your recuperation.

Tweeting some top tips, Lily explained: "Thoughts are with those starting their post Glastonbury comedowns today, YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS.

"It will take somewhere between a week and month depending on your age and what exactly you may have consumed, but you will get through this."

She went on to say you must "start with a good fry up" before some some electrolytes, berocca (a brand of vitamins) as well as plenty of water.

But she issued a warning to "stay away from anything like Greys Anatomy or The Notebook".

Her followers were quick to thank her for helping nurse the hangovers after a weekend to remember.

"Great pep talk from you lily thank you," one responded.

Another said: "I love this overall message, but someone's on a really bad one's gonna balk at/struggle with the suggestion they'll feel that way for four weeks."

A third user told her: "I'm still recovering from the year you did it so the comedown period really does vary."

Lily's life is very different these days and doesn't long for the party days.

The actress, who married actor David Harbour in 2020, has been open about her addiction struggles and last consumed alcohol at the end of July 2019.

Telling Holly Willoughby and Joel Dermott all about it on This Morning back in March,

"It is weird. My life has changed so much," she told the presenters.

"I'm four years clean and sober, I have a new husband, and we're sorting our lives out in America."
