Lanarkshire mum who goes 'above and beyond' for her family is praised by grateful daughter

A selfless 49-year-old from Wishaw has been nominated for our 'Say it With Flowers' award by her grateful daughter.

Annmarie Cooper "goes above and beyond" for her family and devotes all her time to her two daughters, Katie and Megan.

That's as well as caring for her grandchildren, Liam and Olly.

Annmarie was nominated for our award by her grateful daughter Katie who told Lanarkshire Live : “My mum has been a fantastic help. My youngest son Olly is autistic and she has been really great with him during the summer.

“She is genuinely there whenever I need her. She is very caring and is always there for her grandkids. She loves the boys and she is a genuine caring person and will go out of her way to help you and she loves her grandkids.”

As well as looking out for her grandchildren the devoted mum and grandmother also works as a cook in Berryhill Primary School in Wishaw where she has worked for over four years.

Katie told us: “My mum is devoted to her family and she looks after us all, even our stepdad John.

“She is a kind, loving person and she is fantastic with the boys. Olly has autism and she caters to his every need.

“She takes my two boys on holiday twice every year and she devotes every spare minute she has to me and the boys.

“She is really hard working and works two jobs and she is just a beautiful person and I don’t think I would ever cope with her.”

And when Katie told us about her amazing mum, we were only too pleased to help by surprising her with a stunning floral display, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.

“I wanted to nominate her because I’ve had a tough pregnancy and she has done a lot for me and I wanted to thank her and let her know how much we appreciate her,” Katie added.
