Lake District hotel and spa hits the market for almost £4m

A Lake District hotel and spa has been put on the market with a price tag of almost £4m.

The Whitewater Hotel & Spa in Backbarrow, near Ulverston, is being marketed for £3.95m.

The hotel has 38 en-suite bedrooms and achieved a turnover of £1.4m in 2022.

The building was constructed in the late 19th century and was used as a mill until 1978. It then was converted into a hotel and reopened in 1984.

The hotel is set out over six floors and also includes a restaurant and bar.

Before its transformation, the building was previously a Dolly Blue pigment factory making the famous 'Dolly Blue'.

The hotel has not fully traded since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The building is being marketed by Christie & Co's Manchester team.
