KTR is a global leader, Revanth has no stature to criticise him: TRS MLAs

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has termed IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao a global leader and local leaders like TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy doesn’t have the stature to criticise him or his contribution to Telangana.

Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, Government Whip Balka Suman, Qutbullahpur MLA K.P. Vivekanand and MLC Yegge Mallesham said that the Congress leader was unable to digest KTR’s popularity and the response he got during his USA tour to attract investments to the State.

Mr. Suman alleged that Mr. Revanth was speaking in the tone of the BJP on paddy procurement issue instead of questioning the BJP’s failure to procure paddy like in other States. On Mr. Revanth’s argument that Congress had always worked for the farmers, he asked why did the Congress lose in so many States if that was the fact.

Stating that Congress had filed cases to stall the Kaleshwaram project, he said it was strange that Mr. Revanth is alleging corruption of lakhs of crores when the project cost itself was nowhere near that. “All that the Congress knows is stalling development in Telangana and deceiving farmers who were happy under the TRS rule,” he said.

He also alleged that Mr. Revanth had termed Congress president Sonia Gandhi a demon earlier and was praising her now. How can such people be trusted by the Congress leadership?, he asked, showing a video of Mr. Revanth criticising Ms. Gandhi when he was in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). “He was a TDP agent in combined Andhra Pradesh and now turned into a BJP agent,” the TRS MLA claimed.

The TRS leaders further argued that the party would wait till Ugadi for a response from the Centre on paddy procurement and later show its might. “We are already sending resolutions made at every Panchayat office for procurement of paddy to the Centre,” Mr. Suman said, adding that Congress should speak on the resignation of TRS MPs after questioning the BJP on the issue.
