Keylor Navas transfer domino effect could help Nottingham Forest in Dean Henderson pursuit

Goalkeeper Keylor Navas looks set to be on the move this summer, following his loan spell with Nottingham Forest.

The PSG shot-stopper spent the second half of last season at the City Ground as he covered for the injured Dean Henderson. Having signed on deadline day in January, he played a key role as Steve Cooper’s side secured Premier League survival.

Now back with his parent club, his future looks to be uncertain. Reports from France suggest he is unlikely to stay with the Ligue 1 champions.

Inter Milan are targeting Navas, according La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PSG talk). And should they swoop, it could be part of a transfer domino effect which would assist Forest’s bid to sign Henderson.

Navas is reportedly seen as a potential replacement for Andre Onana, who is on Manchester United’s radar. It is the complexities of the goalkeeping situation at Old Trafford which is holding up a return Trentside for Henderson.

Henderson is a priority target for the Reds as they look to bring him in on a permanent basis. The 26-year-old impressed in the Garibaldi, prior to suffering a thigh injury which ended his campaign early, and is keen on making the switch.

United are also in need of a No.1 amid conflicting reports over their stance on David de Gea now his contract has ended. However, our sister paper the Manchester Evening News have reported Henderson still expects to join Forest regardless.

Back to Navas, PSG are said to be willing to sell and French Football Weekly suggest he is unlikely to stay put. The three-times Champions League winner is also reportedly a “prime target” for Saudi Arabian clubs, with Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad ready to offer him “a golden contract”.
