Kevin Costner's 'Horizon, An American Saga' To Premiere At Cannes

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in Cannes

The highly anticipated Western epic 'Horizon, an American Saga' directed by Kevin Costner is set to premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The four-part project, which Costner also stars in alongside Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, and Jena Malone, will be showcased out of competition. Costner will personally present the film on May 19 at the festival.

'Horizon' will be released in theaters in two parts, with the first installment hitting screens on June 28 and the second following on August 16. Costner expressed his gratitude to the Festival de Cannes for including his film in this year's selection, marking his return to the Croisette after two decades. He described 'Horizon, an American Saga' as a project that began 35 years ago and emphasized the significance of unveiling it at Cannes, a place known for its strong support of filmmaking.

The festival's press release describes 'Horizon, an American Saga' as a monumental project that delves into the cost, in terms of war and violence, of the construction and expansion of the United States of America. The film joins the Cannes Film Festival out of competition lineup alongside other highly anticipated works such as George Miller's 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' and Quentin Dupieux's 'The Second Act' starring Léa Seydoux and Vincent Lindon. The full Cannes selection is set to be revealed soon, with rumors circulating about potential debuts from renowned filmmakers like Francis Ford Coppola and Yorgos Lanthimos.
