Kate Middleton stuns with dramatic white dress and black gloves at BAFTAs ceremony

Kate Middleton has been photographed looking glamorous as she arrived with her husband Prince William on the red carpet of the BAFTAs today.

The Princess of Wales, 41, donned a stunning off-white gown as she and her husband the Prince of Wales, 40, rubbed shoulders with British TV and film stars for the glittering ceremony.

She wore a stunning white on shoulder gown - which is a recycled and reworked gown from the dress she wore to the event in 2019 - which she contrasted with a pair of long black gloves.

Kate styled her brunette locks in her staple straight hair do as her natural makeup glowed as she and Prince William walked the red carpet of the awards ceremony.

The Princess of Wales' earrings, meanwhile, were a bargain as they are from high street store Zara.

Meanwhile, BAFTA president Prince William, who became emotional during a tribute to the Queen at the ceremony, wore a dapper black suit with a white shirt underneath. He added a dapper black bow tie and white pocket square.

The royal couple joined a whole host of stars for the exciting awards ceremony as awards season is in full swing.

TV presenter Alison Hammond and actor Richard E. Grant are hosting the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall. This Morning host Alison began prepping herself for the big day at 7am this morning.

She arrived at the venue wearing a glamorous and sparkly black gown, whilst her co-star Richard looked smart in a white shirt, off-white jacket and black pants for the event.

Meanwhile, A-list stars including Viola Davis, Colin Farrell, Ana de Armas and Cate Blanchett are all nominated for gongs as part of this year's BAFTA Film Awards ceremony.

Viola - who is nominated for her performance in The Woman King - graced the red carpet this evening wearing a glittering purple gown, which featured a cape-like design.

Whilst fellow nominee Colin - who's up for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin - opted to don a traditional black suit for the event, attending alongside co-stars from the film.

Ana - who is nominated for her performance in the Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde - walked the red carpet wearing a pink-hued dress, which she accessorised with some jewellery.

Cate - nominated for the film Tár - wore an understated black gown, and like some other guests donned a blue ribbon to show support for refugees and displaced individuals.

The last time Kate and Prince William attended the BAFTAs was in 2020. However, the year before, Kate and William suffered an awkward encounter during their arrival.

As they arrived for the 2019 ceremony, the Prince and Princess of Wales walked into near silence with the audience all on their feet.

It appeared to be a long, awkward walk for the couple, who were led to the first row to take their seats.

It led Kate to be heard saying: "It's so quiet" - before William issued her a quick instruction and added: "Let's sit down quickly."

After the 2020 ceremony, the royal couple were noticeably absent from the BAFTAs for two years.

The 2021 ceremony was held virtually amid the pandemic and William had been due to record a virtual message but pulled out due to the death of his grandfather Prince Philip.

The following year, William then gave a virtual address but didn't attend.

Kensington Palace released a statement saying the couple were not able to attend in person due to "diary constraints".

This year, the pair will watch the awards before meeting category winners and EE Rising Star Award nominess.

Earlier this week, the Prince and Princess of Wales treated their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte to a visit to the set of Amazon Prime series The Rings of Power - but Prince Louis did not join them.

The children were all on their February half-term school holiday and reportedly went to meet the cast of the Amazon Prime Video's Lord of the Rings spin-off The Rings of Power - and also toured the set.
