Justin Jefferson scores Vikings first touchdown vs. Lions

It took nearly a full three quarters, but the Minnesota Vikings have finally put a touchdown on the board. Unsurprisingly, it comes at the hands of star wide receiver Justin Jefferson. With Minnesota facing a fourth-and-1, head coach Kevin O’Connell went for it all, and his gamble paid off in a big way.

Quarterback Nick Mullens laid a beautiful pass out for Jefferson, and Jefferson did a masterful job to get position on Lions cornerback Kindle Vildor to run under the ball for a 38-yard score to get the Vikings back within one score.

Unfortunately, that margin was short-lived, as the Vikings defense gave up a long score to Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown on the first play of the fourth quarter.

Minnesota needs this game if they have any hope of making the playoffs, and they aren’t going down without a fight. Jefferson has been at the forefront of the charge, going over 100 receiving yards already. He’ll likely have to make another play or two before the game is over if Minnesota is going to pull off the come-from-behind win.

Stay tuned to Vikings Wire for more live updates as the game continues.
