Joss Stone says her uterus split open in traumatic 32 hour labour

Joss Stone has opened up about her agonising 32 hour labour where her uterus split open and the singer says that she 'felt everything'.

Joss explained that she'd always wanted children with it being a dream of hers to one day share an extra large bed with her seven children - whether she adopted them or gave birth to them herself.

The mum, 35, spoke about the difficult journey she's had with growing her family alongside her partner Cody, with her first born daughter Violet it wasn't smooth sailing.

The little girl was in breach which meant that Joss was forced to have a C-section, fortunately they were both healthy.

Last October Joss sadly miscarried, when addressing what happened the singer called the ordeal 'horrible' and said it was 'not something you ever get over'.

But fortunately for the brooding mum, she went on to conceive her second child Shackleton who is now seven weeks old.

His entry to the world was quite strenuous on Joss, with the labour taking an exhausting 32 hours.

Joss was warned that because she'd had a C-section before that there was a low chance of a uterine rupture.

The singer said that after hours of attempting to birth Shackleton traditionally, she felt an intense pain and that she heard her baby's heartbeat starting to go down.

The obstetric emergency team were summoned due to the rupture, Joss was unaware at the time but her uterus had split open and her son's head was stuck in her abdomen.

She said: "You only know it’s happened because the baby’s heart rate plummets, and at that point, the doctors only have around 14 minutes to get your baby out alive."

Despite the difficult childbirths, Joss is still adamant on having a big family - although her doctor has advised her against carrying them herself.

Joss said: "Being a mum is better than anything else in the world – you can take away all the jobs, the travelling, the songs… I don’t need any of that. Just give me my babies and I’m fine.

" I still want loads of kids, but I won’t be able to birth them naturally and would need a C-section, though my doctor said: “If you were my wife, I wouldn’t let you.”

"But I’m still happy to adopt as many kids as I can. I don’t mind if I make them myself or not. "
