Josh Jacobs’ nonchalant quote about fixing the Raiders’ problems (Josh McDaniels?) was so relatable

There’s only one logical conclusion after the Las Vegas Raiders’ embarrassing offensive display against the Detroit Lions on Monday night — they are entirely without a paddle. The Raiders’ offensive futility was so pronounced that Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (189 yards from scrimmage) outgained Las Vegas as a team (157) by himself.

The lead story was undoubtedly Davante Adams’ frustrations on the sideline, which led to seamless Randy Moss comparisons. But let’s not forget Josh Jacobs in all this chaos. The 2022 NFL leading rusher shared some rather interesting comments when asked about what he’d do to fix the Las Vegas attack.

And by interesting, I mean Jacobs completely deferred saying anything definitive at all. Why? It’s not his job, folks!

First of all, that is so relatable. Who among us has declined to go above and beyond our pay grade? Never mind that the Raiders famously refused to give Jacobs a long-term contract. So why would he be overly concerned about their issues when they didn’t even want to take care of him? Sometimes, it’s just better to keep your nose to the grindstone.

Still, I think this quote goes further. I think Jacobs is indeed quite frustrated with the Raiders’ offense. And I think he knows that the elephant in the room — inept head coach and professional doofus Josh McDaniels — is probably what plagues the Silver and Black the most.

But hey, it’s not Jacobs’ job to “fix” it.
