Jeremy Renner's face edited in Mayor of Kingstown posters after horror accident

Jeremy Renner has had his face digitally altered in new promotional material for Mayor of Kingstown.

Paramount Plus has edited the marketing posters to remove facial wounds from the star's face after he was seriously injured in a horror snow plough accident.

The actor was left fighting for his life after he was crushed by his 14,330lb snow plough on New Year's Day, suffering blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.

He was airlifted to hospital following the accident and was said to be in a critical but stable condition after surgery.

Those close to the star say the damage to his chest was "substantial" and admitted her has a long road to recovery ahead.

The second season of Mayor of Kingstown - in which Jeremy plays Mike McLusky - launched on Sunday, with the marketing campaign changed out of respect to the actor.

The show's creator Hugh Dillon praised Paramount Plus for their decision.

"It's good of the network. Everybody is sensitive to Jeremy," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Jeremy gave fans an update on his condition on Tuesday and said he has returned home from the hospital.

Replying to a tweet from the Mayor of Kingstown official Twitter account, Jeremy wrote: "Outside my brain fog in recovery, I was very excited to watch episode 201 with my family at home."

He added prayer and heart emojis.

Despite being released from hospital, one of Jeremy's friends said his condition is "much worse than anyone knows".

"Jeremy is very aware of the fact that he almost died out there," they said.

"Word is the damage to Jeremy’s chest was so substantial it had to be reconstructed in surgery," another insider told RadarOnline.

They also revealed the Marvel star could be facing a two-year recovery journey before he is back in fighting shape.

One friend said the actor is doing ok and added that Jeremy is "a fighter" who is "determined to get through this".

The source noted that Jeremy's family were by his side in hospital and have been trying to keep him entertained since the accident.

The Hawkeye actor suffered the horrendous injuries and lost a serious amount of blood after a Snow Cat ploughing machine reportedly failed and sent it rolling over one of his legs.
