Jason Momoa Hints At Possible Return For Dune: Part Three

Jason Momoa looks happy with a slight smile on his face.

Jason Momoa's character, Duncan Idaho, from the Dune franchise may be making a return in Dune: Part Three. Duncan Idaho, a warrior who served Duke Leto of House Atreides and became a close friend to Paul Atreides, met a tragic end in Dune (2021) as he fought to protect Paul and his mother from the Emperor's forces.

In a recent interview with Men's Health, Momoa hinted at his potential return to the Dune series. While he did not reveal much detail to avoid trouble with the producers, he expressed his hope to reprise his role in the upcoming installment.

Although Duncan Idaho's fate seemed sealed in Dune (2021), the character's story continues in Frank Herbert's novels. In the subsequent book, Dune Messiah, Duncan is resurrected as a ghola, a clone with memories of his past life. This plotline sets the stage for Duncan's potential reappearance in Dune: Part Three.

While Dune: Part Two has already diverged from the original source material, Duncan's role in Dune Messiah remains pivotal to the narrative. If Jason Momoa returns for Dune: Part Three, his portrayal of Duncan Idaho is expected to have a significant impact on the storyline.

For fans eager to catch up on the Dune series, Dune (2021) is currently available for streaming on Max, while Dune: Part Two continues its theatrical run. As the franchise evolves, the potential return of Duncan Idaho in Dune: Part Three adds an intriguing layer to the saga.
