Jason Kelce Receives Two Emmy Nominations For Documentary Kelce

Jason Kelce with his family

Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, has been nominated for two Emmy Awards for his Amazon Prime documentary, Kelce. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences revealed the nominees for the 45th annual Sports Emmy Awards, with Kelce receiving nods in the Outstanding Long Documentary and Outstanding Editing categories.

In the Outstanding Long Documentary category, Kelce's film is competing against notable documentaries such as Netflix's The Deepest Breath, Vimeo's Full Circle, Netflix's The Saint of Second Chances, and Showtime's Stand. For the Outstanding Editing category, Kelce is up against works from HBO Max, Netflix, the Golf Channel, and YouTube.

Kelce's documentary follows his journey throughout the 2022 NFL season, which he initially believed would be his last. The film also provides insights into his personal life, featuring appearances from his brother Travis Kelce, their parents, his wife Kylie Kelce, and their children.

Kelce premiered on Amazon Prime in September 2023 and quickly became the platform's most-watched documentary in the U.S. within a month of its release. Despite jokingly attributing the film's success to his brother's relationship with Taylor Swift, Kelce expressed pride in the documentary's popularity.

Throughout the documentary, Kelce and his family aimed to offer viewers an authentic and organic look into their lives, both on and off the football field. The success of Kelce underscores the audience's interest in the personal and professional journey of the NFL star.
