Jane McDonald labelled 'iconic' as she delights fans with career update

Jane McDonald looked fabulous as she teased the latest series of her TV show with fans.

The former Loose Women star, 60, explores Kenya in the latest season of Holidaying with Jane McDonald, which starts this month and shared a photo of herself dressed for the trip.

In a photo shared on her Instagram, Jane wore a khaki shirt, a cream shawl and a wide-brimmed hat, with a sunlit landscape in the background.

In the caption, the Cruising with Jane McDonald presenter wrote: "Come and join me on Safari! A new series of Holidaying with Jane McDonald starts on Thursday 27th April on @channel5_tv at 8pm.

"In the first episode, I'll be exploring Kenya and experiencing my first safari - including a night spent sleeping under the stars!"

Fans of the TV star were quick to share their excitement, with one person simply writing: "Iconic," while another said: "Need to watch this," and a third said: "Must see TV."

A fourth excited supporter penned: "Not long to wait!"

It has been a challenging few years for Jane, after her partner Ed Roth died from lung cancer last April at the age of 67, while her mother died in 2018.

In January she choked up during an appearance on The One Show, after reminiscing about her lost loved ones while discussing Holidaying with Jane McDonald.

A clip was shown where the singer got the opportunity to release baby turtles, and she said "I'm calling one Ed and one Jean," before opening up about how she felt about the experience.

Host Ronan Keating asked Jane about the special moment, with Jane responding: "I've just recently lost my partner and my mother at the same time."

She then choked up, before apologising: "Sorry my throat went there, always does when I talk about them.

"I just thought this is new life. Go out. You've just got to think that at the end of something comes something beautiful in new life. That's what we all have to remember."

When Eddie died, Jane heartbreakingly revealed his death 'took our future.'

Lung cancer is the third most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer deaths in the UK.

Jane first met the rocker, who was the drummer in The Searchers, at a club in Wakefield back in 1980, and they embarked on a teenage romance, as Jane was just 17 at the time.

However, they parted ways after a few months of dating and didn’t see each other again until they were reunited in 2008, and they quickly struck up a relationship.

During the same year, Eddie got down on one knee to propose to her.

In November last year, Jane revealed she was slowly having more 'good days than bad days'.

"I'm doing so much better and you realise just how important your family and your friends are," Jane admitted on Loose Women.
